Rotary International Make-ups

SEND MAKEUP NOTICES TO attendance@orbrc.org

Participation is an important part of a Rotarian's commitment, and a 50% requirement is part of our obligation to Rotary International's Standard Club Constitution. That means that all Rotarians are expected to attend/participate in meetings and activities that keep them connected to the club.

Why does it matter (and what are your options)?

Attending club meetings ensures that members learn about the community -- its challenges and opportunities. ("Beep in" with the bar code on your badge or be sure the attendance desk checks you in.)

Club community service projects, fellowship activities, and participation in Rotary activities at the club, district, zone, regional, and international level also provide make-up opportunities that help members stay connected to Rotary's ideal of Service above Self. This includes tutoring in the elementary schools, work with YouthAct in the middle schools, partaking of fellowship events, etc.  (If no one is taking attendance on behalf of ORBRC, send an email noting your participation and providing the date.)

Making up at other clubs exposes members to other professionals and their efforts to change the world and their communities for the better. (Ask for a makeup card or pick up a bulletin -- if neither is available, send an email and give the date and location of the makeup.)

Online makeups offer information on Rotary history and action, leadership and management training, and areas of vocational and avocational interest. (Print out and turn in a
makeup form or send an
email noting your participation.)

Rotarians have a four-week window -- two weeks before or two weeks after -- to make up a missed meeting.

Make-ups should be turned in to the attendance desk or emailed to attendance@orbrc.org. We must report attendance data to Rotary International by the 15th of each month for the previous month, so please communicate your make-ups as quickly as you can.

NOTE:  It is the responsibility of the convener of a meeting to send a list of attendees to attendance@orbrc.orgin a timely manner, and the responsibility of the individual member to ensure that he or she is listed as attending.

Makeups are listed in weekly in the club bulletin, Breakfast Bytes.
