RMS YOUTHACT STUDENTS MAKE PRESENTATION TO CITY SCHOOL BOARD

RMS YouthAct President Lloyd Adler

speaks to the members of the

Oak Ridge Board of Education as

advisor Norma James looks on.

Members of the Robertsville Middle School YouthAct Club's Executive Board made a brief presentation to the Oak Ridge Board of Education Monday night about who they are, what they did last year, and their plans for this year.

The club is sponsored by Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary Club and was founded last year. School board treasurer Angi Agle and board member Dan DiGregorio are Rotarians; both are members of ORBRC.

Several of the students wore their YouthAct pins and/or the Rotary International annual theme pin from last year ("Make Dreams Real," remember?).

ORBRC's Youth Services Committee Chair Cathy Toth accompanied the students, sent the photos you see here. She also reports that one of the RMS YouthAct officers, Chelsea Warmbrod, the daughter of Oak Ridge Sunset Rotary Club members Cathy and Kurt Warmbrod and granddaughter of the Sunset Club's immediate past president Dave Mason, recently received a special honor.

"Dave recently made Chelsea a Paul Harris fellow," Cathy reports. "She's so proud! I think I've heard about it 6 times, and she was wearing the pin tonight. Very cool for a young teenager to be excited about Paul Harris."

For more information about the work of our YouthAct Club or other projects that can help connect young people with Rotary's deeply held belief in "Service Above Self," check in with Cathy and members of the YouthAct committee.

THE ORBRC BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL MEET
AFTER THE CLUB MEETING THIS WEEK.

The meeting is open to all members of the club
(and make-up credit is given to all who attend).
