ORBRC ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR
NOMINATIONS DUE
It is the time of year for each of you to nominate someone for Rotarian of the Year. Last year's recipient, Cathy Toth will be choosing this year's Rotarian and she hopes each of you will nominate someone. Just a few of our past recipients of this prestigious award are: Dave Coffey, Dan Robbins, Ruby Miller, Karen Bridgeman, Jim Bradbury, and Pat Postma.
For a complete list of all the past recipients, please go to our website and look under the club history page. This is just some of the criteria for you to consider:
An exemplary Rotarian and a good representative of our club, has a sustained record of participation in club activities, and contributes to one or more of the 4 avenues of service.
There will be forms on each of the tables for you to pick up , plus if you prefer you may nominate someone by emailing orbrc@comcast.net or cptoth@comcast.net.
All nominations are due by June 2rd, 2010 at the close of our regular weekly meeting.
GRADUATION CELEBRATION
We need volunteers for Graduation Celebration for ORHS on the morning of Friday, June 4th. Our club helps with the post party clean up each year after the celebration. We will have signup sheets on all of the tables this week. Roger Olsen will be helping to coordinate this effort
The 4th Club Assembly will be this week.
If you didn't get a chance to read the update from Karen Bridgemen, ORBRC is very pleased to announce that we have budgeted more than $16,000 for our charitable works for next year. This increase is due to the successful fund raising efforts of each of you.
Read the details in Karen's email that was sent May 25 to all Club members or better yet, hear about it at tomorrow's meeting!
PLEASE KEEP THESE ROTARIANS IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
Courtney and Brian Henry Update:
On Courtney and Brian’s Caring Bridge site, it is mentioned that a Golf Tournament is planned to help with expenses: "Brian Henry Benefit Golf Tournament" on Friday June 18, 2 p.m., at Pine Lakes. $50/person for a 2 man best ball. $100 hole . Please contact Brent Davis at 865-385-5983 if you wish to play.
Thanks to all of you who contributed to the VISA gift card for Courtney, when reading the Caring Bridge Journal it is obvious all of these trips and out of pocket expenses are adding up for them.
Jay Pride:
Mike Morris announced that Jay Pride is very ill in Vanderbilt Hospital, please keep him and his family in your prayers during this time.
