Album Name: Graduation Celebration 2008 Return to Albums
Album Date: May 30, 2008
Description: Sixteen Rotarians and three spouses pitched in to help with Oak Ridge Graduation Celebration in the wee hours of Friday, May 30. We helped give away a car and thousands of dollars in electronics, cash, and other prizes. We also helped about 268 kids (~83% of the graduating class) make great memories of a wonderful milestone in their young lives.

Rotarians await players for Sherry Livengood tries to entice a player to choose briefcase -- ah, er -- lunchbox No. 9. With a full complement of players, instructions are given by Youth Advisory Board liaison Matt Reedy (cut in half on the far right). Sherry Livengood and Chris Young help their players by reading over their shoulders.
To the applause of Rotarians, David Park discovers he's won the 2002 PT Cruiser made possible by ORBRC, the Other Oak Ridge Rotary Club, Oak Ridge Graduation Celebration Community Foundation, Mullins Performance Car Wash, and Sexton Automotive Group. The 2008 Sherry Livengood moves the popcorn machine donated by Oak Ridge Utility District (thanks, Ben!). Pat Parr and Jerry Young move the casino's poker chips back into storage for another year. Nelson Patterson, asleep at the wheel, packs away the Grand Prix flags.
Dave McCoy scrapes that Cathy Toth joins other volunteers with Goo Gone ... but the goo isn't going without a fight. Jerry Young carries off the raffle ticket containers. Nelson Patterson and Dick Davis take a break as the sun comes up outside. Mayor (and ORBRC President's Guest) Tom Beehan, who showed up to help with the raffle ticket drawings, greets David Harris as he arrives to help with the clean up effort.
Tom and Debbie Clary were among those who arrived at dawn to help relieve those who'd been on duty for hours already. Christina Young, still basking in the glory of being the one who got to give away the car! Dick and Bev Davis paused briefly for a photo, protesting the entire time. Roger Olson makes a clean sweep ... McCoy and Toth, still scraping by ...
Karen Bridgeman, happy to see fresh help arriving, greets Lydia Birk. The
