Mom and child waiting for the dentist Dr. Young ready to work. Patients lined up to see the Physicians, the eye clinic or the dentist. The beauty of Nicaragua. A church used for the medical team.
Dr. Jim Michel snaps Oak Ridge First Methodist church Medical team & a patient beside the bus that transported us over muddy, rutty roads. The portable dental chair being used in a remote local school. The interpreter helped Dr. Young communicate with the patient. One of the best sites had screened walls in the hot climate of Nicaragua for our portable clinic. Dr. Jerry Young & assistant Linda Cates waiting for 11 to 25 patients a day near Matagalpa, Nicaragaua.
Linda Cates welcomes our youngest patients. A parade of bands outside our clinic door. Linda Cates tries out the police clinic chair. Notice the rusted, non functional equiptment. Thanks for the portable dental chair. Closeup of non functional dental unit at police dental clinic. Notice rusted cuspidore & unit. A local teen in the band show parade.
Stike up the band. Loud drums prevented MD's from getting blood pressures. These great intrepreters made our work possible. Loading the bus to head back to the USA A zip line ride over Nicaragua gave me a great view.
